Have dating an eighteen year old final, sorry

Do you think it's ok for an18 year old female to date a 28 year old male? I am 18 and I am considering dating a man that I have known for quite a while. He's 10 years older than me, but we have gone through a lot of the same situations I would like opinions on this. My mom is discouraging me from dating him. Her only excuse is "He's too old for you"
He's 10 years older than me, but we have gone through a lot of the same situations I would like opinions on this. My mom is discouraging me from dating him. Her only excuse is "He's too old for you" The guy and I will make the final decision I just want opinions. I didn't think that was even possible lol But she's not me. She's never met this guy either.
Thanks, everyone for your input:.
I think the main concern would be why you two are dating. If you have the same value system, enjoy each others company, and are truly interested in the other person then go for it! You're a legal adult and if you two are feeling a connection then I see why not.
Hope this helps and good luck! It's absolutely natural to like or love or date someone who's older than you.
A lot of people date people who are much older than them than that age. It really depends on your mentality and maturity too. If I was an 18 year old female I would probably spend time with someone older than me and not an 18 year old boy.
You could even like someone who's 15 years older than you. It's you and him who feel, act and decide.
I personally find it natural. You 18, he's 28, so what. Do what you want. Your an adult. Yeah, Mom doesn't like it, but she'll get over it if you both decide to date. I used to date younger men. There is nothing wrong with that either.
Best Wishes, and have fun. No, that is a nice age difference as long as you are mature enough.
It is nice to date an older man if he is also mature as his age should indicate. In reality it's not about what other people think If you're happy then that is all that matters and it doesn't matter what anyone else says because your happiness is all that matters i hope it all works out!
I think personality is what determines the relationship you have with someone more than your age.
Is it weird for a 18 year old and 25 year old to date?
But you should still keep in mind the advice that others have cautioned here. Age isn't any big deal as long as everyones legal, but you may encounter some bumps in the road due to difference in maturity.
A lot of learning and growing happens in those seven years. I'm 20 my boyfriend is We graduate 1 semester apart so we're at the same point in lie. Not weird. Uhh its not really disgusting or anything. You're off age and if y'all like each other then yea. Are They Too Old/Young for You???
You are legal. This is the age of moving out and taking care of your own life.
If you're like 15 or 16, I would say yeah it is weird a little. But you're fine!
It's not disgusting but like aundralyn said it's kinda weird. At 18 you're still a baby and new to adulting typically while at 25 you're at a different stage of life.
It just seems like youd hit a lot of bumps and you wouldn't have too too much life experience in common.
